چکیده

The antagonistic meta-model PerPot has been developed in order to simulate the interaction of load and performance in physiologic processes – which has been done successfully in a lot of applications. There are, however, a lot of cases where neither the restriction to just one type of load nor the transformation of two or more load flows to one abstract substitute represents practice satisfyingly. Two very well-known examples are given by the load pairs [speed and slope] in case of running and [volume and intensity] in case of long term training. In order to meet those demands the PerPot concept has been extended to PerPot DoMo, the concept and the tool of which are briefly introduced, followed by some first results of how it works. Although the model approach seems to be rather simple, it turns out that the simu-lation quality is surprisingly high and allows good predictions in short term as well as in long term activities.

On the long term behaviour of the performance-potential-metamodel PERPOT

PerPot has been developed for modelling, simulating and optimising the interaction between load and performance in training processes in sport but can be used for modelling general physiological adaptation processes as well. The basic idea of PerPot is that a time-dependent load input feeds buffer potentials, from which a performance potential is fed by specifically delayed antagonistic flows (...

Modeling the Relationship between Training and Performance - A Comparison of Two Antagonistic Concepts

Few attempts have been made to apply systems theory to the description of human responses during physical training. Initially, Calvert, Banister, Savage & Bach (1976) proposed describing systems behavior with two antagonistic transfer functions ascribed to fitness as a positive and fatigue as a negative response to physical training. Performance, i.e. system output, was thus the balance between...

Dynamic Simulation of Performance Development: Prediction and Optimal Scheduling

Development of perform ance output depe nds on load input in complex ways. Two central aims of training and performance analysis are optimizing the training effort and predicting the training result. The Performance Potential Metamodel PerPot models the interaction between training input and perform ance output in adaptive physiologic processes by means of antagonistic dynam ics. This means tha...

Development of an Intelligent Real-Time Feedback System

A system for optimizing athletes’ sport performances has been designed and partially assembled on the basis of the already implemented “Mobile Coaching” and “PerPot” concepts. The intention of Mobile Coaching is to assist sportsmen via feedback information derived from physiological and biomechanical parameters recorded during physical activity. PerPot is an antagonistic model for predicting lo...
